Some common acne myths:
1) Diet – despite dozens researches concerning the possible diet effects on acne, the results are vague at best. While there are still scientists that claim they have found a connection between what we eat and the probability of suffering from acne, they still lack any undeniable proofs.
2) Sex – one of the most common myths about acne is its connection to sex (and namely, to the lack of it). The male hormones' level is unaffected by having (or not having) sex, so there is no link between that and the severity of acne.
3) Hygiene – the direct reason of acne is the level of testosterone (and, to the lesser extent, other male hormones), not personal hygiene. What is more, if the skin is cleaned too often or too hard, it often becomes irritated, increasing acne symptoms.

The Truth About Proactive Acne Medicine!
Let me make a confession to you about the whole thing concerning proactive acne medicine. I find proactive acne medicine as rather something amusing. And I will tell you the truth that I've discovered. However, let's start from the foundation.
The Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary described the word proactive as "...a person or policy creating or controlling a situation by causing things to happen rather than reacting to events etc." Do you see that? Again, the word 'proactive' is a common cliché among the guys in the corporate and business world when they're referring to ability to react to certain occasion and quickly get the best opportunities from it.
The best opportunities from what? Getting the best of business opportunity from acne disorder that is afflicting millions of people today! For example, do you know that those acne products that are being referred to as proactive acne medicine are actually packaged of existing treatments? I remember reading a story of a young lady plagued by acne. She saw one of those proactive acne medicine commercials on the TV and quickly ordered one.
At first she experienced a little relief, but in few weeks time her acne condition grew worse and worse. The reason is simple. That proactive acne medicine product wasn't anything special but was discovered to be benzoyl peroxide that was dressed up as proactive acne medicine. The truth about benzoyl peroxide is that it's NOT effective for every skin type and must be used by known pre-determined application.
Why dressing acne medicine as proactive acne medicine?
My take on this is that you must allow yourself to be fooled into buying any acne drug simple because it's called proactive acne medicine. You should also not be persuaded to buy proactive acne medicine simply because you saw a Hollywood star or a celebrity endorsing it. What you're seeing is a commercial meant to sell product. Remember the celebrity is only doing his/her job and will get paid for it.
Is every proactive acne medicine bad? No, I'm not condemning every acne medicine that sells as proactive acne medicine. As I've just told you, using the word "proactive" is simply a commercial cliché and a new way to create a marketing niche for easy sales. There are some natural acne products that are packaged and sold as proactive acne medicine that are effective.
